I love clean hockey hits. Hit ’em hard and hit ’em often, knock the air out of them if you get the chance. But play within the rules and show good sportsmanship while you pound the crap out of each other.

Stanley Cup 2014
Another short entry regarding my Canucks.. 😦
There won’t be a first round loss this year ’cause we AREN’T even IN the playoffs!
Double UGH, and as promised, here’s the second: (UGH)
Right now the first rounds are underway and it is awesome hockey to watch. So much enthusiasm and effort. I’ve cringed at some of the hits and there’s been some dirty hits as well.. I guess it’s part of the game, but the cheap hits that take out another teams star player don’t belong in the game. Play hard, play tough, but, please play FAIR – that’s what sportsmanship is all about!
On the bright side – What I love about watching the playoffs when my team isn’t playing is that the games are way more enjoyable – no stressing about slow play, or puck turnovers or funny bounces or bonehead plays by goalies – for me it’s just sit back, watch and appreciate the athleticism of the players!

Stanley Cup 2012
well, this will be a short entry
WE LOST in 5 games to the LA Kings in the FIRST round!!
UGHHHHH
If I was a newspaper Editor (from any team, but the Canucks) my Sports Headline the next day would have been:
GOOD MOURNING CANUCK FANS!!
Daniel Sedin (#22) of the Vancouver Canucks shakes hands with goalie Jonathan Quick (#32) of the Los Angeles Kings after losing 2-1 in the first overtime period in Game Five of the Western Conference Quarterfinals during the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Rogers Arena on April 22 in Vancouver. The Kings eliminated the Canucks after winning the series 4-2
I’m up early this morning to watch the Canucks vs Bruins game. This is the first time we’ve played them since they beat us in the Stanley Cup Final last year. It still hurts to say those words, I’ll get over it when we win our first Stanley Cup!!
Just before the game began I turned to Vancouver Global TV and saw Jay Janower interviewing Guy Lafluer! Now there is a hockey player! I loved watching him play in the 70’s. There he was, him and his hair, flying down the ice.

Roberto Luongo’s New Johnny Canuck Mask
At least Roberto Luongo hasn’t lost his sense of humor.
If only Canucks fans could find a similar sense of perspective when it comes to the Vancouver goaltender.
Booed by the home fans during Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to the Rangers, and ripped repeatedly on sports radio ever since, Luongo broke out a new mask prior to Thursday’s game against Nashville, joking it was “a couple weeks late, just like my game.”
While that game has, by his own admission, always been a little off in October, there’s nothing wrong with Luongo’s new Marlene Ross-painted lid, which brings back a new version of the Johnny Canuck character he has used on past masks.
“I wanted to bring a bit of everything that I’ve had since I’ve been here, the Johnny Canuck back on the top and a vintage look,” Luongo said of the decision to leave his new lid, which features “Canucks” on the left side and “Vancouver” on the right with a matte finish, rather than the usual high gloss, an idea he credits to his brother in law
